In short: GPSR is the EU General Product Safety Regulation. Since 13 December 2024, every distance-selling listing in the EU – including offers on Allegro – must show who the manufacturer is, who is responsible for the product in the EU (when the manufacturer is outside the EU) and any safety information. Allegro rejects new offers without this data. Instead of adding it offer by offer in Allegro’s panel, you can keep it in WooCommerce – once for all products, with exceptions where needed – and send it with every listing.
What is GPSR and who does it apply to?
GPSR (Regulation (EU) 2023/988) replaced the earlier General Product Safety Directive. It covers consumer products sold in the EU, both in physical shops and online. In practice it applies to almost every Allegro seller: clothing, home goods, toys, electronics, cosmetics and many more categories.
It applies whether you are based in Poland or elsewhere – if you sell to EU consumers, the listing must carry the data.
What GPSR data an Allegro listing needs
| Data | What to enter | When |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturer | Company name, address, country, email or contact form | Always |
| EU responsible person | Importer or authorised representative in the EU | When the manufacturer is outside the EU |
| Safety information | Warnings, safe use, age limits | When the product needs it |
| Product identification | Model, batch number, label image | Where applicable |
Manufacturer – including when you make the product yourself
If you make the products yourself (own brand, handmade), you are the manufacturer and enter your own company.
EU responsible person
If your goods come from outside the EU – for example from China – and the manufacturer has no EU establishment, the listing must name an economic operator in the EU, usually the importer. If the manufacturer is in the EU, this field usually stays empty.
Safety information
A short text: warnings, instructions for safe use, age limits. One text often fits a whole product group, and only some products need their own (candles, toys, cosmetics).
Products placed on the market before 13 December 2024
Some obligations don’t apply to goods placed on the EU market before 13 December 2024. Allegro lets you mark this per offer. Use it only when you are sure all stock in that offer predates that date – new deliveries of the same product don’t qualify.
Why adding GPSR data in Allegro’s panel is slow
In Allegro’s panel, manufacturers and responsible persons are created as separate records and then assigned to each offer. With hundreds of offers and several manufacturers, that is hours of clicking – and every new offer needs the same step again.
It is far easier to keep GPSR data in the store and send it automatically with each listing.
How to add GPSR data from WooCommerce
WooCommerce Allegro by wpAsist adds GPSR data to every offer it sends to Allegro.
Step 1: switch on GPSR data and enter the manufacturer
In the product safety settings switch on adding GPSR data to offers, then enter the manufacturer’s name, address, country and email or contact form address. Switch on the “placed on the market before 13.12.2024” option only if it applies to all your stock.

Step 2: add the EU responsible person and safety text
Fill in the EU responsible person when the manufacturer is outside the EU, and enter a default safety text that goes to all offers.

Step 3: exceptions for single products
In the product’s Allegro tab you can enter a custom safety text and mark that the product was placed on the market before 13.12.2024.
When the first offer is sent, the plugin creates the manufacturer and responsible person records on Allegro for you – no manual setup in Allegro’s panel.
Things to watch
- The data must be accurate. GPSR is a legal requirement, and market surveillance authorities can act on missing or wrong data.
- Several manufacturers. If you resell goods from different brands, make sure each listing shows the right manufacturer.
- Email or contact form. At least one electronic contact for the manufacturer is required.
- Missing GPSR data is a common reason for rejected offers on Allegro.
Frequently asked questions
Is GPSR data mandatory on Allegro?
Yes, for new offers of consumer products. Allegro rejects offers without manufacturer data and, where required, the EU responsible person.
What if I make the products myself?
Enter your own company as the manufacturer. If you are based in the EU, you don’t need a separate responsible person.
Who is the EU responsible person?
An economic operator established in the EU who is responsible for a product made by a non-EU manufacturer – usually the importer or an authorised representative.
Can different products have different safety information?
Yes. A default text goes to all offers, and individual products can have their own.
Does GPSR apply to my own web store too?
Yes. It applies to all distance sales to EU consumers, not just Allegro.
